This book reeled me in. I liked the main character and wanted everything to work out for her. I’d definitely recommend.

Thanks to NetGalley for this read.

I liked this more than The Wives, but I think Tarryn Fisher is just not for me.

Last 70 pages were fun. But not enough to excuse the way I had to DRAG myself through the first 230 pages.

For me, the book lacked the pacing & suspense of a thriller. It just felt like a montage of unfortunate things happening. And when you learn of a character’s backstory, the usual “omg” feeling you’d get isn’t there. Every twist (except the very last one in my opinion) falls flat. Also the characters are so unlikeable that there is no one to root for?

I feel like the author kinda had an idea for what vibes they were going for and which themes they wanted to address. But I don’t feel like I read a thought out chronological story. I read vibes.

Idk this one just wasn’t for me! If you do read this, I’d suggest going in blind!

The author notes that what inspired her to write this is a story about someone squatting in somebody’s home without them knowing. I think the author told that story well and I was definitely grossed out by Juno and hatedddd those scenes. But I don’t think the author successfully turned that interesting concept into a thought out, concise, story
.

There seems to be a lot of negative reviews but I actually really enjoyed this one. I haven't read any of her other books (aside from the one she wrote with Colleen Hoover) so maybe my expectations were lower then those who have read her other books.

I don't think it's the greatest thing ever written and I wasn't blown away but I enjoyed my time reading it which is good enough for me. It was easy to read, it was bizarre, it wasn't overly complicated, the characters were interesting, there was twists and turns. Overall, for me it did what it set out to do which was entertain.

Ohhhh this is a bad book. It’s poorly written and the characters are flat.

There’s basically no plot, and what little there is isn’t very compelling or thrilling for a book that’s labeled as a thriller.

I’m not someone who thinks that characters all have to be likable, but they should at least be interesting.

The only positive about this book is that it’s a fast read and I finished it during my boring desk shifts.

I’m not sure I would call it a thriller, but that might technically be its genre. It does contain one of the spookiest elements of true crime: someone secretly living in your house (and consuming your food).
