What a ride!!!

This one took a bit to get going but when it did it was so good. I’m so surprised I liked this so much. Vincent is EASILY my favorite character.

This is definitely a character driven book.

What I Liked

I loved the characters and their growth. The strategic interludes weaves through the book that now showed Raihn’s back story that was directly correlated with what was about to happen. I enjoyed learning more about the lore and the gods and how Nyaxia’s tragic story also weaved with our protagonist. Additionally, Vincent, my dear Vincent. He is my favorite out of the series. You love, hate, and pity him at the same time. His ongoing commentary and the pieces of him, as you peeled back the onion that is this character was soooo good! Omg!

What I didn’t Like

I think pacing was a bit odd at times. It lolled in certain areas. Some of the writing was a bit unnecessary since it repeated the same thing over and over. Lastly, the plot felt a bit blurry at the beginning but got much better after the first arc.

I absolutely loved this. I can’t wait to see what else happens. I’m in love. I highly recommend it! I beg you to give it a chance.

Usually, when I really like the first book, the second one doesn't usually meet my expectations. But this one topped it, damn it. The first few chapters were slow but when it gained momentum, it took me to a rollercoaster ride. I can't wait for Mische's story!
