I still love this series, but this book was a little bit too long for me. The ending was of course action packed with big revelations and emotions and I just wished this pace picked up a bit sooner. I love how in the end this book is  about vampires accepting/not accepting their humanity with all its fear, heartbreak, anger and love for others.

SUN FUCKING TAKE ME

To say this was the perfect ending for the House of Night duet would be an understatement. It was brilliant!! The writing as always was so freaking good and the easiest mother-damned thing to read.

Raihn and Oraya have me in a chokehold! The exact slow burn I live for and the dual POV had me praying to Nyaxia herself!! The continuation of their story was just so good and had me on my knees. We see what life is like now that Raihn is the king and all the challenges he has to face because of it - including his relationship with Oraya seeing as he omitted info and killed her father (oops). There is war, bloodshed, friendship, romance and more spiciness than I thought (very tasteful)! In my eyes this series is the perfect romantasy!

It took me so long to read the last 100 pages - I had to stop every two pages to breathe because I was so stressed out about it all ending lol

Now I need Mische's story hehe

I am not convinced that our bad guy is truly a bad guy. In fact the house of blood wants the same exact thing that the hiaj and rishan clamns aim for. Acceptance. I think this is intentional given there are 6 books in this series. Overall, I don’t think Septimus is evil just misunderstood and desperate (in the name of his people too!)
