I love this book. I loved the first book (six of crows). The only reason I’m giving it a 4.5 instead of a 5.0 it’s because there’s a death that I feel is just for shock value and wasn’t necessary.

Other than that this book was wonderful in the character development was wonderful. There’s a lot of dark themes about this book and I really enjoyed seeing the parallels to modern day capitalism

If Six of Crows was a 5 star read, Crooked Kingdom is the entire galaxy.

Never have I ever read a book where there are more than 3 main characters and I loved them all equally. CK took everything that SoC excelled at and then just made it like a thousand times better which I didn't even know was possible. I fell even more in love with these characters as their backstories were explored deeper and they got to face their challenges. Multiple times, the plot got me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, sending my prayers to the Saints.
like the sugar silos scene or the auction scene for example
The relationships was just perfect and got me squealing. I loved not knowing what exact scheme the big brained Kaz had come up with and wondering which parts were going according to plan and which were plot twists. And the ending was just chef's kiss.

CK easily became my favourite in the duology and also one of my favourite books of all times
