Just yes. So much fun. Impossible to put down. Everything I wanted this book to be. If you need something like Ella Enchanted in your life, this is it.

This was the first fantasy book and first fantasy series that I read when I was still in elementary school. This book single handedly turned me into a book lover and eventually an English major. I never tire of reading these books and will read them to my kids one day!

Cute. Strange as an audio book, because they do it radio-play-style, with different actors for the different characters.
It makes me wish I had more time to read actual for-grown-ups dragon-y books, but it is a lovely respite from KQED's spring fund drive.

I don't know what I liked about this the first time I read it. This second time through, I found it so boring. I read it again because it's on the Battle of the Books list for 5th and 6th graders. Hopefully it's more interesting to kids than it was to me.

This would probably be a 4 or a 4.5 star read but the full-cast audio recording made it all the better and bumped it up to a 5.

I first read this book when I was closer to the intended age... but now revisited as an adult, it's just as enjoyable and I can see why I liked these books as a kid. I liked it as an adult. And I'd like it for my child to read!

I should have read this years ago.

Cimorene is a rebellious princess, which I sometimes have misgivings, but given that she was an early-comer to the genre and that she doesn't reject her feminity and is rebelling more against boredom than against anything else, I really can't fault her.

The world is amazing, and as a fairy tale enthusiast, I loved all of the references. I have accepted it wholeheartedly as a Bookania story. (Which, for the record, just means that it's a lovely fairy-tale world.)

Now I need to chase down the next book in the series.
