Secrets you keep comes to the light

Reese has been so affected by her childhood upbringing by her rogue cop father and selfish mother that she'd had a hard time verbally expressing her love. She really believed in her mind that she is unworthy of true love, thinking once Evan finds out about her father, he will leave her. That turns out to be so far from the truth. Evan would do anything for the love of Reese and keep her safe.

It was not until her paternal grandfather came into her life under the guise of a good customer of her bakery shop Flour, that she is told of her father Milo Benincassa's family in Italy and things about her father that she did not know. Despite her mother Lolita's selfish ways, Reese still loves her. That love is put to the test when she finds out that her mother is partially responsible for her father going rogue, and her grandfather Giovanni Salvatore Giuglianno hated and resents Lolita for it.

I enjoyed reading the story of Evan and Reese. Reese was a complicated insecure character who learned how to express her love to the one she loves, the one who actually deserves it. Evan was a true alpha in love, determined to have and keep the only woman who made him feel the easy she does. I wished the author would have explained how and or why Milo picked the Benincassa name. Was he an illegitimate son of Sal or was it his mother's maiden name he used?
