Super dry and difficult to comprehend at times, but some seriously powerful stuff!
Honestly I don't seem to be enough if a Biblical scholar to actually understand most of the points Bonhoeffer is making here, but right at the end I began to suspect if I did understand now I might disagree with a fair amount.
Based on this (which admittedly I understood/absorbed very little of) I really do not know why Bonhoeffer was all the rage among young hip evangelicals 10 or so years ago. Probably because of the extremely interesting biography of a German pastor who stood up to the Nazis and was killed for it, but I would have appreciated some kind of context or commentary or just something here to ground the wiring in it's time and thought.
