ENGLISH
Winston is in danger of being dethroned by his brother. Because my love for Perry is infinite.

STORY
An arranged marriage, even in this century is something that still exists for wealthy families such as the Lancasters and Constantines. Power and status is everything to these families and they will do whatever it takes to protect themselves and destroy their enemies.
Perry Constantine is a magnificent man who knows nothing but to take care of the people he loves the most. Including if he has to give himself to a stranger to protect his family's interests.
Charlotte Lancaster appears to be a spoiled child, but she can captivate the current most eligible bachelor of one of the most powerful families in existence. A girl who shows what she's really made of.

OPINION
I didn't want to know much about the story when I started it and I got quite a few surprises. Even though these characters are very different, I loved them with their explosive dynamic. They both love their families and the trust they place in them is very honorable. I'm excited to find out what fate has in store for them as that ending left me with my mouth hanging open.

Oh, Perry Constantine I simply adore you!

This book happens in the “Midnight Dynasty world” and Perry has been a secondary character in many of the previous books, I loved him in those and I’m thrilled to finally get his story.
(It’s not necessary to read previous books, you won’t be lost. I think it enhances enjoyment if you do though)
This book is an arranged marriage romance, it has a youthful vibe and it’s a bit lighter than the other books in this “world”.
Not to say that I don’t think it’s going to get a bit twisted and dangerous because I absolutely do.
The characters are very likable, I love Perry’s attitude. He goes with the flow but, when he feels it is necessary he does rebel, he’s not actually controlled by his family, he chooses his battles wisely in my opinion.
He’s witty, charming and has a wicked sense of humor. He’s got the bad, rich boy persona but, he is actually nice.
Charlotte is a lonely young woman who had her brief rebellion that ended in heartbreak. She’s controlled and treated poorly by her father so the arranged marriage is a mixed bag for her. She’s snarky, smart and a bit sweet underneath. I look forward to her coming into herself.
I love the banter between them, I love the way they start to work together.
Their chemistry is that great fiery, enemies to possibly more type.
It’s a slow burn, but, when it ignites… it’s super explosive and crazy hot! These two are incredibly sexy together.
The ending brings a shocking twist that happens so fast I think my jaw literally dropped.
It has me desperate for the next book.
It’s quite the interesting twist and I’m really excited to see how it plays out.
I really loved the characters story and can’t wait for the next book in this trilogy.

I would like to call myself a connoisseur on arranged marriages because I am absolutely obsessed! This is my second Monica Murphy book and I absolutely adore her writing. I am not normally a fan of slow burn but this one really stole my heart and I was so excited to see some other characters from other books show up on this one. As someone from the south, where woman are sassy and independent - I love how Charlotte was portrayed as a strong female lead. I also loved Perry's alpha goodness throughout this book. The fact that there spicy scenes on top of this - this book hit all of the check boxes! Please go read this!

Since I first stepped into the Constantine world, I was in love with Perry Constantine. Yes, he's playful, indulged, and a bit spoiled. He's the opposite of his intense, older brother - Winston, but that's what makes him so loveable. I'm over the moon to finally have his story and tickled pink that his character is still a mama's boy to the ice cold Constantine queen. Add in the fact that Perry is very self aware of his self-indulgent lifestyle, he is my favorite character in this Midnight Dynasty world yet. This book is all that and a bag of chips!!

Charlotte Lancaster is the only daughter of one of the wealthiest families in the country, but that doesn't make her a pampered princess, quite the opposite actually. Instead she's a commodity to be traded to the highest bidder which happens to be the Constantine family. Unfortunately, neither party involved in the trading is actually involved in the deal. The documents are signed and the marriage is already going to happen whether Perry or Charlotte want it or not.

Charlotte is a woman torn emotionally, desperately wanting to escape the tight control that her father has on her, but also hating that the only way to escape is through an arranged marriage set up by her controlling father. She doesn't want to like her - forced upon her - fiancé, but the more time she spends in his company, she just can't help herself. It wasn't in her plans to stay with Perry, but maybe being married to him won't be so bad.

Perry is charismatic, cool, and just fly AF. He's the kind of guy you want to hang out with and definitely want as a bed partner cause when he's laying on the charm...hot damn. The man is hard to resist. I want more of him and his sexy as sin charm.

The Reluctant Bride is an excellent beginning to this trilogy and I can't wait to see how this couple gives in to their electric chemistry.
