I feel like the point of this book is that she’s not special, and in that, she’s been successful. This book is not special, and I’m not sure it was a good use of my time.

I really enjoyed this memoir because it felt really raw. And I think that Ms. McInerny was the right choice to read it. I think women who grew up in the late 90s and early 2000s will really connect with this. I also appreciated her dive into her disordered eating.
Graphic: Cancer and Eating disorder

Minor: Death of parent, Pregnancy, and Confinement

My thoughts are all over after finishing this collection. I found myself laughing, grinning, frowning, pausing, agreeing, disagreeing, weirded out, invested, intrigued, and in the end identifying with a lot of what was in this book. It was interesting and I think I’d say thanks to her for sharing if I met her in person. I initially wanted to say it was like Jenny Lawson, but with much more of a heaviness…but I’m not sure that’s fair to either party because they are both clever in their own ways and both manage to laugh/mock/make light/joke through it all.
