What can I say I found one book by this author I didn't love. It had to happen I guess. For me it was the characters and their story. Hank was too easy, so bendable, so completely a wuss. He was willing to give up all of him for a woman that was meh for this reader. At one point he wants to give up something he firmly believes in just to make her look good to the town folk. Really Hank, what about your "gotta protect them" belief ? He found her sexy as "he double hockey sticks", I found her a hollow shell. Charlotte, was a cookie cutter conservative type woman that had been left by her husband for young stripper. She's got 4 kids, that Hank Mr. Don't Like Kids instantly falls in love with. Yeah, I didn't buy it. She tells him she doesn't have time for dates, him, relationship, so he gives up all his to support her. Okay aww that's sweet but who wants a shadow of a person, following you around giving up all their interests ?
So now lets talk about how everything just falls into perfect place far too easily. There was no hurdle except in head. Grumble grumble grumble
Bottom line Meh Meh Meh. May I never see this couple again

When Penny Reid writes a book, she really means business. I loved how she did it this time. This book is now my new favorite! This was romantic, heart-warming, and kinda badass! If you love reading stories about heroines with kids and grumpy man, then this is definitely a must-read recommendation!
Hank and Charlotte were so real and with all the great feels yet there was also a fragility to their relationship. Hank with the kids was simply adorable, there was so much Winston brothers content I was so happy to see them. I highly recommend this book and this series!

This book is so great.
Really, 10 out of 5!
I love every character (well maybe not the mother and the ex-mother-in-law).
This love story is amazing.

Trigger warnings: cheating, divorce, abuse

I've been wanting to read this book for awhile. I love Penny Reid's Green Valley Universe, specially the books she writes herself because they are all so continuous and work so well together. I've always been interested in Hank as a character, he's such an enigma as a side character, so I was super into seeing him more closely and watching him find love. I found Charlotte to be exactly the person he needed which made the whole story super fun and heartwarming. I had a blast! It was also great to see more of the other side characters get a bigger role since I am sure they'll be coming up next in this series. I find the original GVB much more beloved, but this is a great series to continue seeing old favorites and making new ones.
