It was really refreshing to see that this author is capable of writing something other than two toxic people with questionable pasts staring at each other for 300 pages. This was the first of her books I've read that felt like it actually had depth and a story I could get into for more than a few minutes, and I was honestly really impressed. I hope it wasn't a fluke and that she continues with this stronger, more interesting storytelling.

I rated this book an 7.5 out of 10. This emotional story hits close to home in multiple ways. It's easy to put yourself into each character's shoes and understand their individual point of views. I feel the story would've been more enjoyable without the romance.

This was a quick read for me, and I have some mixed feelings. I really enjoyed the story of Kenna and her journey to get her daughter back. She had everything going against her, but she knew that her daughter was the entire world and wanted to be a positive addition to her life. I wish the focus of the book was more on Kenna than anything else.

I felt there were additions to the story that I couldn't care less about. The shmexy scenes were toned down slightly, but I could've done without them in general. I didn't want a relationship. I also felt this was a typical romcom... nothing new. It accomplished the goal of getting people emotional, but the story is the same.

I don't care how much hate CoHo gets but this is by far my favorite book of hers. Period. This book had me bawling my eyes out at so many scenes (nothing traumatic. Just some gutwrenching, some happy moments). I was a mess at the end of this book while i had tears running down my cheeks but smiling and happy for the main character Kenna at the same time. Also, I wouldn't put this book in the romance genre. There's romance in it but it's like a sub-plot to me. It's mostly about a mother wanting to do right by her kid.

The story seems sooo real. So wholesome.

It's about how difficult it is to process grief and how individual of a process it is. It's also about how we tend to judge people uni-dimensionally when people are soo much more than just one incident. Beautifully represented by the author.
