So good, I can’t even describe it. So much happened in this book and there were so chapter cliffhangers that wrecked me so much. Even though it didn’t have a huge cliffhanger at the end I wanted to start the next book(s) asap to continue the story because I love these characters (except maybe Chaol still, I hold a grudge hehe).

I am going to echo my previous review in that Maas continues to add more characters that while not totally unnecessary make it confusing to track dialogues. Several new characters are introduced in this book and previously added characters stories are deepened.
Aelin and Rowan's relationship becomes much more than friendship during this book and they both begin to recognize that they might be each other's mates. The other characters notice it almost immediately but even by the end of this book neither Rowan nor Aelin really notices it.
Chaol’s story continues with Maas giving us clues as to how he spent his time whole Aelin was away training. Dorian has quite a character arch but I felt his scenes were a bit short and somewhat repetitive. They also seemed a bit random when they appeared between chapters but that may have been intentional to jar the reader. I really liked the character development of Manon in this book and how she eventually comes to care for Elide. Overall this was a good book and I got through it relatively quickly but it wasn't earth shattering for me.
I enjoyed the character development but it all felt a little repetitive regarding the rebels actions until Rowan arrived and the whole plot against Arrobyn.

This is the best TOG book so far. Everything finally came together and it was so exciting and had me on my toes the whole time.

Throughout this book, the action sequences are very well crafted to fit both the setting and the characters. Some of these characters really come into their own here, and the plot takes a direction that feels fitting but I didn’t fully expect.
