A who-dunnit with a twist. I loved the snarky narrator and relationship dynamics of a long term group of friends going through a stressful situation together. I had my ideas about who killed who as the bodies piled up, but I kept being proven wrong. A great novel and a entertaining read!

"It's a magnificent house to hide a killer."

A well done murder that kept me guessing. I definitely liked the crazy twists and the fun in the story. But the characters really are pretty awful. They typically don't have any thing nice to say, so they are constantly belittling, insulting, swearing or otherwise tearing down everyone around them. It was hard to remember that the MC was 25.....But, when I decided to just ignore most of that, the story sucked me in. I was completely wrapped up in trying to figure out who did what because so many pieces weren't fitting together. I did enjoy the end, even though Mr. Bojangles never got adorable and her insulting her mom, aunt or not aunt or godmother never got funny.

Ursula's mother drags her on the annual Book Club retreat. Though like most book clubs, meetings mostly involve wine.
This year Ursula's mother, Pandora, booked an old country estate house. After dinner, the offer of fortune telling is made and accepted. Several women meet with the mysterious woman.
Over the night, a massive snowstorm began - the women search for a way to leave. Only to discover the fortune teller's dead body. And the murders begin.

The dark sarcasm was much appreciated, as well as the glimpse of dark humor. The relationships between the women were dark, negative and complex. They didn't really get along, some nasty interactions. They were bitter and mean with each other.

As for the mystery- I failed to guess the culprit and motive.

The story kept me entertained though squeamish - the interactions were quite dark. I did finish but at times struggled to motivation to keep reading.

Slow paced, unlikeable characters, halfway through the book and not much has really happened. Just not gripped by it
