Solid storytelling, strong characterization, and intriguing world building make this short tale in the Farthane series an interesting read. It will likely wet your appetite for the other books in the series. However, as a slice of life in a greater work, the reader is only given a slight taste. The story doesn't resolve in a meaningful way since the major narrative occurs elsewhere.
