Love the IKEA setting. Just love it.
I appreciate the navigating a post-breakup relationship theme. Even though I was a bit annoyed at the constant arguing of Ava and Jules, it was ok.
I really enjoyed Jules - they were spunky, adventurous and had dreams — unlike Ava who still had to figure that out. Also — non-binary rep!! I read very few books with enby rep so it was very heartwarming to feel represented.
I enjoyed the anti-capitalist themes but sometimes I felt like it was literally spelled out to the reader.
Anyway I also felt that this book could’ve been longer!! I gladly would read about two or three more parallel world encounters
and made sure that Jules was okay!!

Finna is a fun and fast-paced (slightly deadly) anti-capitalist adventure through a wormhole in technically-not-Ikea with two former lovers a few days after breaking up.

It’s an anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-transphobic, anti-capitalist, thought-provoking romp which strikes just the right balance between explaining stressful stuff and depicting an escape from it. The romantic relationship is over before the story starts, and it helps convey a raw feeling, an uncertainty, because while the reader doesn’t already know all of why it didn’t work out, the shape is familiar. The world-building is really good for such a short book.
