Forced proximity with a recent ex/co-worker while jumping between universes! Such a good book that made me laugh, then cry, then laugh again!

In 'Finna,' Nino Cipri interrogates the horrors of retail work through a speculative lens.
Ava and Jules are both employees of LitenVald, a big furniture store fashioned after IKEA. Recently broken up, they are navigating what it means to work together as exes when a wormhole opens up in the store and one of their customers wanders in. Sent to follow after the customer and bring them back, Ava and Jules travel to parallel universes that are all fashioned after different iterations of LitenVald.
Cipri utilizes speculative fiction to create a tale that comments on what it is like to be a minimum wage worker, the perils and possibilities of working with your ex, and finding confidence within oneself. Cipri does so in a way that is engaging and insightful as we follow along and into different worlds. Their writing style is light and fast paced in tone while investigating deeper themes. Despite its shorter length, they do an exceptional job of creating a fully fleshed out world with characters that you care about deeply. I will most definitely be picking up everything that Cipri writes and even off of just one book, I think they will be an autobuy author for me.

Every world has its monsters.

Okay, that? That was super fun. I’m going to be diving into the second book as soon as I get my grubby little hands on it.

Finna follows two recently broken-up exes as they have to travel through the multiverse to find an elderly grandmother, who slipped through a wormhole while exploring an IKEA-like store. I feel like giving any more away would be spoiling, but I found this short novella about personal growth, retail hell, and monsters very entertaining and thought-provoking. Plus, it's queer.

LitenVärld accepts no responsibility or liability for any losses or injuries that wormholes incur, since they fall under the Act of God clauses on our employee insurance.

Elegant, so relatable, fun, quirky, inspirational, and gay. This book is a delightful morsel of scifi entertainment and therapeutic insight.
