This book had all my favorite things that Martin does: a charming leading man, a love story that makes me swoon, breaking cycles, a powerful female lead, and female friendships that I love.
I’ve read the previous two of her books in this series, and what really sets this apart? Well, I think the female friendships in this was as powerful as I’ve ever seen them and I LOVED IT.
Because one, straight from Martin’s book:
“Women get such a bad rep, but there’s nothing more powerful than a group of women.”
Yes! Women get called catty or b****y as a group, they get called dramatic, they get called every negative thing under the sun. But, what do they not talk about? They don’t talk about how damn powerful we are together! How we make things happen. This book really illustrates this part.
Then there’s this beauty of a quote:
“It’s one thing to have a friend. It’s another thing completely to have a friend who gets more excited for good things to happen in your own life than you do. That’s what these women do. In our group, we celebrate joys and mourn losses and we do it together authentically.”
Brynn and the relationship she has with her friends reminds me of some of my best friends. To have people who not only hype you up and are deliriously happiness in your happiness, but also to have friends who drop everything in your times of need? That’s EVERYTHING. This book made me smile and reminded me how lucky I am to have them.
This book was another winner for me!
If you’re looking for a book with a swoon worthy leading man, a bad ass female lead with her equally badass friends, and a book that just makes you smile with the romantic fluff? Pick this up.
⚠️FOOD WARNING⚠️
THIS book makes you crave taquitos, specifically ones from 7-Eleven and a Slurpee to go with it. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I don’t know why I didn’t DNF this book. Objectively it’s not a bad book, it’s a great romance in the traditional sense of HEA but I just couldn’t get into it at all. The characters fell flat for me especially the heroine. She really grated my nerves for some reason. Maybe because her life is 80% about her bar and I don’t drink? I’ve never had that issue before but first time for everything I guess.
