It was written like fanfiction I would’ve written in 2014

I read 46 pages and hated the juvenile and staccato writing style so much that I drove to Barnes and Noble to return it 7 minutes before they closed.

YA fantasy romance about a young girl with a love of the sea who is set on an adventure to save her father after he is taken. So overall I enjoyed this book which is actually surprising because the main character was kinda stupid in a way that was arguably annoying. I dont fully understand the point of some of the things and would think that it would have bothered me more than it did but for some reason I was still on board. I liked the writing and was interested in finding out how things were going to turn out. I dunno.

Its not a bad book. I felt it lack something for me and found I wanted to DNF many times but I didn't.
