A tiny book (128 pages) of micro-stories.

I borrowed this entirely based on the title, which, frankly, is the best part of the whole book. The entire collection felt like it would be fawned over in a university seminar and was written with that exact type of analysis in mind, with the result that it felt fairly pretentious and over-worked to read outside of such a setting. Each micro-story was only a page or two long, and whilst reading them there was something there, but it disappeared as soon as I tried to grasp it, obscured by its own (attempted) cleverness - the literary equivalent of grasping wisps of smoke. A shame that it didn’t live up to the promise of the wonderful title.
