Honestly loved this book the most!! Such a cute little community story with romance and thrill. I don’t love how the drama/plot is the same for each book in the series but I loved the characters and their intertwined story so much

  • “Sounds like the guy you’re not worried about didn’t grow up with any kind of emotional support to show him what it’s like to be a real man in a real relationship…a guy like that might think the only way he can keep something safe is by keeping his distance” - Joel about Lucian (page 414 things we left behind)
  • “The only think I liked more than a closed library was an open one. Surrounded by all those books, all those worlds waiting to be explored on the page. The ASMR-like buzz of whispers, keyboards, and turning pages. But I usually enjoyed the after-hours silence almost as much. “ - Sloane (page 458 things we left behind)

I really loved this book and would recommend it to those who enjoy romance and mystery along with the rest of the series.

I gave it 4 stars because it really makes you think and try to solve the mystery and connect all the pieces, which I thoroughly enjoy. It’s not getting 5 stars just because it didn’t fully capture my attention like that. I love the character Lucian and want to be him. I have a hard time picturing sloane for some reason but I still love her as well!

Let’s be honest, I totally rated this book based on the ✨vibes✨ and the fact that I made it right to the end of this series when the books are all 200 pages longer than necessary.

Sloane and Lucien were fun, a little annoying sure but still a whole lot of fun. It was also really really sexy - much sexier than the previous two books in my opinion. I think the thing that always sells me on these books is the feeling of family, both born and chosen and how they come together in one big, happy metaphorical warm hug. There is just so much love in these books and just for that it gets five stars.

I would recommend it if you loved the first two books but wanted even more heat or if you love a small town romance with a lot of heart and a big funny, loving family.
