Another great book in the Gabriel Allon series. Probably the best book in the series so far.

I haven't read this series in a while, but the ARC of the latest thriller from Silva featuring Israeli assassin Gabriel Allon reminds why I always liked these books.

Good story. It was nice to have things wrapped up properly. There were a lot of clichés in this though. It makes the dialogue hard to listen to sometimes. Some of the things seem prescient for 2007 - the issues going on in France, England and the Netherlands with Islamic extremism, the overthrow of the Egyptian government. Silva has his finger on the pulse of Europe and the Middle East.

Just couldn't stick with it the second time. Silva's books are a bit formulaic and the bits where they're prepping for the "job" might as well have been cut and pasted from a previous book. I did like them working with the gal from The Messenger, who helped them get a terrorist in the previous book. I think maybe it's time to give Gabriel Allon books a rest, maybe forever. I loved most of the early ones. Sad for me as I absolutely LOVE Allon the character.
