Had all the workings to be a really sweet story with so much potential to be great. The ending was really rushed and I found that frustrating.

This was just an okay book. I appreciated that it was lighter than so many WW2 books, and it was clean. However, there was an immense conflict between the two main characters that the author could have delved more deeply into. As it was, there was just surface tension between the two people and it results in the story not ringing quite as true as it could have. On the whole, the lack of character depth is my biggest complaint. The story was great but the whole structure needed more depth to make the characters truly come alive.

This book has been on my list for a long time, and it did not disappoint. The ending was more abrupt than I would have liked, but otherwise the storyline played out very nicely. The writing was great, and I felt like it was easy to really connect with the characters.
