Muriel’s journey throughout this book was very interesting. I can easily say at no point did I anticipate how she was going to navigate her relationship with the monster. I found their developing relationship to be somewhat wholesome and twisted in a way that was unconventional. The book is very gory and the author does what feels like almost too good of a job at describing how the creature eviscerates its victims.
