After the not-so-shocking dramatic end to Nobody Does It Better, Gossip Girl heats up as high school graduation approaches, their futures now closer than ever, new and old romances ignite, long standing friendships fall apart and Jenny looks into various boarding school options.
And word on the street is that a certain filmmaker is looking to remake Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Any guesses as to who is one of the many, beautiful, hopeful young actresses? Breakfast at Fred’s seems to be generating a ton of buzz and this serves as a central plot point along with graduation.
With Nate and Serena as a couple, Blair decides to take her life into her own hands and start fresh. Yale has accepted her and she finally feels as though she’s gotten back into her groove; although it’s clear that she feels the sting of Nate and Serena’s newfound couple status.
Nobody likes to see their two best friends date, especially when one of those best friends is the love of her life. But luckily for B, Nate is just as devastated by this turn of events as she is. He so clearly misses Blair. Surprisingly, the same could be said for Serena. In fact, their so-called romance is built more on the point that both want to prove to Blair that their surprise hookup in the last book was more than just a hookup between two friends.

I really liked this one. It was less drama, more coming-of-age with everyone building up to graduation. Venessa & Blair were cute friends. Nate’s crying was weird but funny. Serena seemed to regret being crappy to her friend for once. I liked Jenny’s storyline of looking for boarding school and even Dan’s pathetic love poems.

GOODREADS SUMMARY
Welcome to New York City's Upper East Side, where my friends and I get everything -- and everyone -- we want. Snagging the latest Marc Jacobs bag or your best friend's boyfriend isn't pretty, but it's always hot...It's almost graduation and our lives are really heating up. Everybody's into college and it's obviously time to party -- as if we hadn't been doing that already!
Will Blair and Nate's love affair continue? More importantly, will Blair finally get into Yale? Or will Nate and Serena hook up in New Haven and leave Blair alone in the city? And as for the juiciest scoop of all, what's this we hear about Jenny leaving Constance Billard to go to boarding school? Only time will tell how everyone will end up, but one thing's for sure: love is in the air, and it smells a lot like Gucci Envy.
More I read this series, more I fall in love with it. Gossip Girl is one of my all-time favorites now. In beginning I was bit hesitant about reading series, cause I love the TV show and afraid it ruin it for me. I am glad that I gave it a chance. Now that I started reading it, I can’t get enough of it, I want to keep on reading, to see what happens with everyone next, what pact they will take. Gossip Girl is type of series that will keep you engaged, till the end. Nothing Will Keep Us Together, was like that, from the start till the end. The ending had the most unexpected twist and it made me to pick up the next book.
I wasn’t big fan of Nate, mostly because I hated the way that he treated Blair, way that he kept hurting her. In this book I actually felt sorry for him, even if he was with Serena, he wasn’t happy and I could tell that it wasn’t who he wanted to be with. I could tell that he loved Blair, even if he didn’t tell her; I just had that feeling, because of how he was acting. I hope that he can find something, or someone who will actually make him happy. But at this point I feel like there isn’t anybody that will make him happy. It was bit hard for me to imagine, a guy like Nate, crying. It threw me off a bit. At same time, it made me want to pull him into a hug. Maybe the rehab over summer will help him.
Blair: I was happy to see that she found someone else, besides Nate that made her happy. I was sure that she would end up back with Nate by the end of the book. I got feeling that maybe Blair cares for Marcus, as much as she cares for Nate. I am curious what’s going happen between the two of them when she goes to visit him. I am curious if they will remain together.
Now the ending was unexpected. Kiss between Serena and Blair? Did not see that coming, since half of the time the two of them are fighting, over Nate. I am curious to see how that might change their friendship.
I’m curious to see what happens with them in college. If you haven’t read it yet, it’s worth your time.

Picks up where book 7 leaves off. This book revolves around graduation. As always there are some scandals...
-a boy that may not graduate due to a theft at school
-another boy that declares his love for a girl by announcing he will skip college to stay in the city with the girl he loves
-a on-again/off-again couple are off-again and he has a new girlfriend
-a girl has snagged herself the main of her dreams.
The book ends with the graduation night party where most everything changes yet again!

It's finally graduation day and everyone is getting ready. Well, not everyone...
Vanessa and Aaron are still together but Vanessa is also interested in Dan again and Dan is definitely into Vanessa. Nate and Serena are a couple but they might not be as happy as everyone thinks. Jenny is still scouting out boarding schools and is finally accepted to one and Blair has met a boy named Marcus. Lord Marcus! Almost everyone is excited for college but someone is thinking of deferring for a year and someone might not even graduate high school.
This 8th book in the Gossip Girl series was a let down. I loved seeing Blair meet someone new like Lord Marcus but I still hate Serena's character. She seriously has no feelings at all. She goes from loving Nate and wanting to have a relationship with him, to finally having a relationship with him and not wanting anything to do with it. Vanessa knows that Dan is crazy about her and I hated how it felt that she was leading him on. I'm ready for Dan to get a happy ending. Also, Serena and Blair audition for a movie called Breakfast At Fred's, which is suppose to be a sort of Breakfast At Tiffany's remake, and Serena isn't even sure if she wants to be in the movie. But she auditions and gets the part and doesn't care that Blair is upset. She knows that Blair wanted the part badly, but now that she has the part, she is excited. Oh Serena, you're a terrible friend!
Now onto book 9... Oh how I can't wait to get through this series.

Nothing Can Keep Us Together is the eighth book of the "Gossip Girl" series and it gets things even more dramatic. The melodrama is top notch and the characters were even more obnoxious!
