I found nothing to take issue with in this book. Unfortunately neither did I find anything particularly engaging

Constanta, I would have never treated you like that girl!
This book was a bright light after a week of slumming through my last book at sloth speed. It’s was dark and cryptic and sad, but also the three are so caring and loving to each other it makes you see them for who they are and not what they’re become.
Read the TW for this book though there is a lot to deal with.
It’s a super quick read though I finished it in one sitting.

Crying score: No, but yes. But no.

Pages: 292 (physical book)
Genre: dark, romance, drama, low-fantasy
Spice: 🌶️
Steam: 1.5
Representation: Polyamory, bi-sexual, BPOC main character (lover/bride)

Review:
I don’t think I’ve ever team anything quite like this. The story telling was immaculate and immersive. The prose beautiful and deep. It was a very different book than I usually read, and I savored it. It explores the nature of love, relationships, and coming into one’s own self and power. The love in this felt fantastic but also relatable.

If you have ever been in a toxic kind of codependency or abusive relationship with a partner you may recognize the nuances and inner turmoil one faces in that situation. I found it cathartic and I felt seen as the author told this story.

Plot:
This is a Dracula and his brides story. Only from the point of view from his first bride, Constananta. It is written in a memoir style in the format of letters to someone she will never send. You truly feel you are on this journey with Constantana and grow with her.

Steam / smut:
The steam was driven by emotional expression and so was the sex. Which was light in both IMO, but not off completely page. Each physical scene was a reflection of the emotional stakes. With the only more explicit scenes towards the end.

Triggers / content warning:
The font of the book has a list. Which I found really helpful. Please consider them before reading. This book while not overt does have some hard to read moments.

this has now become my favourite book . I finished it in wine sitting and i’ve never been happier. I read it on kindle but i will be rushing into waterstones to by the  physical copy . Constanta has my heart and shall have it for a while. This book got be out of a reading slump and will be rereading sooner than later. <spoiler >The  ending was sad in the sense i had i obviously wanted them to remain together but i also know that this ending was the correct. This is why i should never be a worse. Gibson has done the hard but truely remarkable job of making a book where the mc is able to regain power and control while still being lovable and not over the top . The romance is just everything especially between my new favourite sapphics <spoiler >. I highly recommend that it should be read by all who love gothic polyamory with a strong and inspiring .main character

I went in to the book without knowing anything about the story and it was not at all what I expected. A lot darker than I was expecting.

This book was reccomend to me as a Sapphic Vampire horror novel but its very much a Bisexual Vampire horror novels. There are sapphic moments in the story, but all characters are bisexual

I enjoyed this, but not as much as everyone else seems to. I enjoyed the way this was told(the audiobook was really good!). I do wish we got to see more of the relationships because I feel like we hardly got to see the man be like rude, you say it in small ways which I guess it what it it, but it was just a short time period. This doesn’t make any sense I’m sorry 😭 I did like that this different sexuality representation!
