Least favorite of the ACOTAR books, it didn't feel fair to give it 4 stars. I understand that SJM's books are "Romantasy", but I hate when the romance side completely overtakes the story, especially when there are other more interesting plots (the Valkyries

Ahhh super mixed feelings about this one! I liked Nesta’s character arc and love Cassian but there were sooo many extra pages I didn’t need.

Okay.... If I was anything but a Maas stan this book would be rated three stars, but, because I love Sarah I'm giving it 4 stars, more like 3.8/5 stars.
Let's start with what was wrong with this massive book.
There is no plot, and then suddenly 4 plot points. Those being, Nesta's healing, the romance, the trove, training.
The romance- This book is undeniable the most romance central Maas book, the issue is, I did not love it. I love Nesta and Cassian, but their romance all started off wrong. I did not enjoy the let's just sleep together plot, and there were way too many sexy scenes. The plot would get going and get me excited and then all of the sudden it would just be steam or talk about steamy stuff. And the steamy stuff was not enjoyable to me, with their being too much and it not being loving or happy. In ACOMAF, I felt the love between the characters, not here, until after the winter solstice. Which then I started to really enjoy their romance, but not until then. I as well did not like the writing of the steamy stuff, not my cup of tea!!
Nesta's healing- This was rather well done, but because of her healing, the romance lacked for me. Now let's talk about the ending and Nesta losing her powers. Im okay with this as we truly saw the arc of Nesta's healing! She gave up a huge part of her because she was learning to love and trust and be a family again!
The trove- I really did not understand why this plot point was just thrown in, it's like Sarah wrote the book and was like, "I need more Plot" (which it did). But at the end of the day, this plot point was just weak and thrown about!
Training- This part was enjoyable, seeing the banter with her, Cassian, and Azriel! But, it was a little boring and repetitive, docked a star at this point.
Other things- Nesta and her friends "winning" the blood rite. Really, this made me upset. Literally, only 12 people have ever won and they, excluding Nesta, were able to win it all. With only months of training *eye roll*. I guess my biggest fault of the book was the romance and how it was written, I still love Cassian and Nesta as well as their romance at the end of the book, but their romance did not satisfy me like Feysands did and does.
I still hate Mor, and I can not explain it.
Things I liked!!
Positive female friendship! The friendship between Nesta and the other two girls was beautiful and perfect! But I do not ship Gwyn and Az! Never!!
Eris- Why did I like it? I have no clue, but I did! And I believe something is going to happen with Mor and Eris, what? I don't know!
The romance at the end! That felt more like Sarah!
The banter with Cassian, Az, and Nesta! Especially Nesta and Az!! that present, ahhh!
The ending, Im happy and glad Nesta and Cassian as well as Rhys, and the sisters got a happy ending!!
Overall this is not my Favorite ACOTAR book, nor Sarah J Maas book, but I did enjoy it and am looking forward to the next book, which will hopefully be Az's!
In the extra scene, Feysand- I fully believe Elain will turn bad!! This is the Romance I want to see, sweet and loving!
Az- Have not read yet, but will update!
