First Frost

I loved being able to revisit the Waverly sisters and their extended family.

I especially loved the story line between Bay and Josh. I wish we got more interaction between them because it was such a sweet beginning. Honestly kind of hoping there’s another book that continues Bay and Mariah’s story’s.

The only part of the story I didn’t enjoy was Russell Zahler. I know he was there to act as the antagonist but I really felt bored by his storyline and like it was just unnecessary.

I love all of Sarah Addison Allen's novels, and this book was no exception. Being back with the Waverly family was like being back with old friends.

More cozy goodness. I may reread this series every September just to get myself into the mood.

These books are my happy place. My favourite type of escapism. I love the Waverly family and look forward to another chapter some day.

Love this story of Sydney and Claire, the Waverly sisters, and their family. I keep hoping there will be another book written about them.

Bit of an abrupt ending but it holds up to the first book quite well, for all that this sequel wasn't at all necessary.

"Who you are is a stone set deep inside you. You can spend all your life trying to dig that stone out, or you can build around it. Your choice." pg. 72

Thank you, Evanelle. Thank you, Bay, the girl who knows where everything belongs. Thank you, Claire and Sydney. Thank you, Henry and Tyler and Mariah. Thank you, Sarah.

If ever you need a definition of love, or of family, or of real magic, find it here. Settle for nothing less than knowing where you belong, even if that's in the wind.

I devoured 150 pages last night and finished the last ~50 this evening. That's how I read her books. That's how I love them. Her stories are beautiful and told with such simplicity, I hardly notice how much the magic sticks until I am remembering them for years afterward. I will love this one for a long while, too.

a quirky magical read. It seems there is an apple tree that comes to life at first frost. It belongs in the Waverly family (believe me you don't own this tree). Because of it the women seem to have special talents that make the town just run better and smile more.

This time Bay tells the story leading up to first frost. It seems she is crushing hard on a boy while her aunts business spends out of control.

All is made right again when a stranger appears in town and the tree drops apple blossoms like it is spring not Halloween.

This is a story free of typical YA plots like love triangles absentee parents and angst.Instead just a simple story with a big message.

Pleasant read. I'm enjoying Allen's books.
