This book is by no means perfect. The pacing alone is an absolute horror show, but I enjoyed ever damn minute of it.
I particularly loved that Julien and Issac become an established couple not even 30% of the ways into the book. And from that point on their relationship never fails, they do have rough patches of course, but they never breakup. Despite how much I loved this element of the story it does without a doubt cause many off the pacing problems. I think, had the book been shorter those pacing problems would have been mitigated it not outright quashed. The book is too long for the story being told, but Issac and Julien’s relationship is so cute I barely cared that the extra content messed with the plot.
BIG TRIGGER WARNINGS for sexual assault, toxic relationships, gaslighting, grooming, emotional manipulation, rough sex, kink, and dominance play. The grooming and toxic relationship stuff is pretty brutal and fairly graphic.
