Witt and Zabo are a lethal combination.
With 500+ pages, we really get to see the progression of their relationship and the story takes its time with the important moments and really allows you to get invested. This book is especially for those who love following a couple past the honeymoon phase and exploring the minutiae of their work and private lives. It's about those little moments where the story shines.
The first half is very straightforward and low angst while the second part has a bit more drama without overdoing it. Most of the conversations revolve around Julien's past but overall, the story is more focused on his healing and than dredging up those terrible memories. So while it tackles a serious subject matter, the story still has a lightness to it.
I loved following Isaac and Julien as they grow together from teammates to lovers to hopelessly in love with each other. Their approach to BDSM and their communication were incredible.
Thank you to the author for an advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book has everything going for it, but somehow it's taking me forever to read. Part of it is that I want to be reading holiday books, and I can't get into anything else. But part of it is the pacing of the book. Every time it feels like something is finally going to be a big conflict, it's not. So it's making it hard to believe that the actual conflict will make an impact. I have a hard time seeing these characters as needing huge arcs or anything, but the external conflict isn't there either. *shrug*

Emotional! Julien and Isaacs story was an emotional one that’s for sure. The loved they shared was so beautiful. They way Isaac took in and learned what Julien needed and how to be what he wanted was unbelievable and it showed how much he cared for him. Oh Julien and his story broke me. Every thing he fought within himself was crushing. But the way they both calmed one another was amazing. The way they love each other you can see was felt in their souls and it was absolutely beautiful. I can’t wait to read Nisha and Elias story next!!!
