This feels like a motion picture living rent-free in my head.

I don’t read that much fantasy, but every time I do, I end up enjoying it a lot. It was so captivating, that I inhaled this story within a few days; thinking about it all the time. Luckily, I was on holiday. I can’t read something like this on a usual weekday, I simply wouldn’t sleep.

“The right belief is like a good cloak, I think. If it fits you well, it keeps you warm and safe. The wrong fit, however, can suffocate.”

I guess all this speaks for the genre and maybe also for this author and his book. I liked Vin a lot and also the fallible “hero” Kelsier. Found-family tropes also catch me quite easily. The magic system was comprehendible for an irregular fantasy reader like me.

It won’t be my last Sanderson brick of a book!

Brandon Sanderson - that's a rating itself, isn't it?

Ocean's 11 and political intrigue meet in a fantasy setting where the bad guy won. There is so much to love in this book from the compelling storyline to the endearing crew of characters. I'm looking forward to reading the next installment.

Turns out, getting back into Fantasy at 28 has made me really excited to read again. This is a fantastic book with an interesting magic system and twists.
