He caught her face in his hands, and despite her quick wince in case any cops watched, kissed her, long, tender, deep. “I want to keep you, till the end of days.”
“I can live with that. And I’m damn glad this day is about to end.”
Every time I finish an In Death book, I've always paused myself and thought of this couple. How much they complimented and supported each other, through the happiest and worst of days. Truly, they are meant for each other in every way and sense. Really really one of the best couple I've ever read.
Anyway, sappy thoughts aside, this book has the highest death toll compared to other In Death books. A whopping127 deaths . So many people died. Just because of an idea. Damn.
As usual, the side characters were what made this story alive. We got more scene with Dallas's men and I love every minute of it. Peabody was witty as always. God, I love these people so much!

It always amazes that this series is still going strong.
In Delusion in Death, Eve is faced with a mass murderer that seems to choose targets randomly. When the story opens she is called to a bar that has 83 dead and several injured. It appears that the toxin that affected them caused all the people to turn on each other. Will Eve be able to stop the next attack?
All the usual, well developed, characters are involved in this race against time. It was also the first time in the series that Sommerset reveals a little about his past (beyond Roarke). Really and enjoyable series.

Two months after I read it I couldn't remember what it was about without checking the book description. But it doesn't matter; it's an Eve Dallas story and I'll read anything about her. Besides I did remember that I enjoyed it; read it in less than two days.
This is the 35th in the Eve Dallas series and this one is a little unusual in that the deaths that Eve must investigate appear that they may be terrorist in nature. Consequently there is more urgency in her investigation than usual, especially after the second event. There's plenty of action and suspense, though no particular danger to Eve or her friends.
Of course, in the long run, this series is not really about murder, or even police investigation. Those are just the vehicles for the real story. Which is relationships. Eve's marriage to Roarke, which has ups and downs and continues to evolve, and the relationships of Eve's friends and coworkers. That's what keeps me coming back after more than 35 books.

Still a gripping read, even on the fourth time through.

How many times have I said I've given up on this series, the I see one at the library and pick it up, hoping I'll get that same joy I did from the first books? This time around, I realized why it's lost its luster --- the primary characters have done all their growing, and so have all the good secondary characters, so we're left with a straight whodunit. I'm done with the series this time, really....
Not bad, but the In Death stories are very forgettable once you've finished reading them.
An airborne toxin drives everyone to kill each other in a crowded bar in just a few minutes. Turns out this is an old recipe going back to the Urban Wars. At some point I have to wonder if she will do a book or two based in that time frame? In the end the good guys win and another book was enjoyed.
As Eve works through her personal demons, with Mira's help, she also works through why someone would use a biological weapon for mass murder. Classic JDRobb but a more open Eve.
An interesting take on the usual. I wasn't quite sold on the additional twist at the end, but the Eve and Mira scenes were extra awesome.
A very good installment in the Eve Dallas saga. The crime was disturbing and fascinating, and we learned a little more about the urban wars, which I find very interesting.
best Eve Dallas in a while! Stayed up until 3am finishing it!
