I received this as part of Penguin Random House's Season of Stories. I read the first installment and immediately began checking of my "do not read" shelve; but, while filling in the remainder of my review, began to feel ashamed at myself for abandoning such a short read. I also wanted to give better reasoning for my 1-star rating.
Unfortunately, all I can think to write is that this story is a poor impersonation of The Family Stone.
