I liked the the first one better probably because the relationship was more developed due to the fact that the book took place over an extended period of time. If you like insta love and fated mates (aka two of my least favorite tropes), you’ll enjoy this one!

But what i really loved? The surprise in the first sex scene because like this is a werewolf shifter book and i was NOT expecting that. 🤭

I also don’t know how much was changed from the self pub to the trad pub which could’ve affected this

Onto book 3!

This series is so unserious and I cackled my way through this. I’m so here for a lady who knows what she likes and doesn’t apologize for it.

I did feel like it was slightly less charming than the first book, probably because it has an insta-love element and is missing the adventure component. Still, if Kimberly Lemming were to write a million books in this series, I’d read all of them.

This book was a little underwhelming compared to the first, and the banter wasn't as funny. It was like Brie was the same as Cinnamon, except her quips were cheese themed instead of spice themed. It would have been nice to have their personalities and dialogue a little more distinct.

Again, the conflict resolution felt rushed and I felt there was a bit of the miscommunication trope (sort of, don't let it deter you; it does make sense in this scenario, it was just very mildly irksome) but I still enjoyed the romance between Brie and Felix.

I can't judge a short book too harshly for moving everything along quickly, even if it's a little too quickly, so the main reason I didn't give a better rating is because this book didn't feel different enough from the first book. It needed to have its own uniqueness to keep it from feeling boring and like it's basically just rehashing the same plot/conflict.

It sounds like the 3rd book is a bit different, but I won't be reading it right away. I think I would have liked this second book better if I would have read some other books in between, maybe, so I'm hoping that will be the case if I wait a bit to read the 3rd book.

This is definitely not a standalone - reading the first book in the Mead Mishap series is a must before diving into this one. With this sequel, I felt way more prepared for the pacing and author's writing style, which allowed me to enjoy this immensely.

Brie and Felix's romance is a whirlwind, but a hilarious and sexy one - while also feeling more natural to me than the first book's romance. Prepare for a monster/paranormal romance with kinky moments.

I loved the multiple POV's, which made both Brie and Felix feel authentic. And the side characters had me rolling with laughter. 10/10 on humor and wit!

I do wish there were more pages again. I would have loved to get more development of Brie's past and fear of commitment. Nonetheless, it felt like the author hit her stride better in this second book within the small page count. There was a better balance between plot and romance and it don't feel choppy at all.
