Compelling topic, which makes is a quick read. There were some parts that felt real and genuine and others that felt disconnected and contrived.
However, I think this is a book that many young readers, who were interested in the topic (child sex slavery) would read with a high level of interest.

This book is haunting me. So beautifully written, so sad, so true. I keep thinking of the characters and wanting to know more about them. Can’t wait to read more by this author.

This was so difficult to read. Dime is the story of a young girl living with an alcoholic foster mother who finds love and a kind of family with a pimp and his two other prostitutes. It's heartbreaking how she gets manipulated into a life of prostitution.

It's not like me to write reviews, but I have to say something.
I honestly can't describe how I feel about this book. The writing is moving and I liked Dime, but the story.
Oh my God the story.
It was so heartbreaking and so disgusting and so addicting that I read it all in one sitting.
I going to do something mindless to let what I just read sink in.

Heart wrenching. Engrossing. Horrifying. Enlightening. So many words to describe this book. So much packed into 300 pages. A quick read but so worth everyone's time. It could save someone's life.

This was heartbreaking and excellent. Can't say it was necessarily enjoyable, but it was eye-opening, especially for fiction.

I'm grateful that I finished Dime because it was disturbing, dark, harsh, and shockingly real. It has the potential to inspire true change in the world and I hope it does just that.

Gritty stuff. Pair it with Rachel Lloyd's Girls Like Us. Teen readers are going to circulate this until it falls apart in their hands.
