DNF at 30%. I went to Barnes & Noble after I was pretty into it and skimmed the last 50-100 pages. Not worth the finish and I don't want to even attempt the third in the series.

I gasped and screamed while reading this book.

While there is some wonky world building, there is a juicy plot.

I needed a dramatic read and this was certainly it.

Even worse than Cruel Prince. Somehow that's possible. Holy Christ, anyone that thinks this series is good (let alone the masterpiece that so many claim it to be) is fucking brain dead.

How can anyone see Jude as anything other than an incompetent moron with a superiority complex? She was betrayed by 90+ percent of the rest of the cast, even multiple times by one character. But yeah, she's a fucking master spy and a badass girl boss that barely survives any form of physical confrontation she gets in.

Black's prose is just as bad and infantile as Cruel Prince. The climax here hinges on the same plot point as Cruel Prince. Write something fucking different.

Christ, I'm going to have a fucking aneurysm over this garbage.
