Another amazing story by Aurora Rose Reynolds! This brought out so many emotions in me. I felt heart-break when Aubrey lost her chance with Denver, whom she has been in love with since she was 13. I was glad that she found some happiness with Greg and the child they had created, but knew her heart had always belonged to Denver. Then even more heart-break when we find out Greg was dying, but also hope because Greg cared enough about Aubrey to contact Denver to look out for her. He knew Denver has always been for Aubrey.
A few years down the road, still nothing is spoken about how they really feel, but Denver's actions have been showing it for years. He felt she was not ready, but he was there for Aubrey and her little girl from the very beginning. But by one action from Aubrey, oooh boy this all changes. Denver's alpha male comes out with a growl! From then on Denver was all in, but he knew he had a challenge ahead of him. Aubrey has always been on the shy side and socially awkward, she didn't understand what was happening with this new Denver, but he didn't give up.
I did feel a bit of frustrations with how much time passed and how reluctant Aubrey was, but in the end the HEA was all worth it. I really loved this book!

I'm sad that this series is over! Aurora Rose Reynolds knows how to write the best stories in a few amount of pages!
5 out of 5 Stars
One Last Wish is book 3 in the Shooting Stars Series. I really enjoyed One Last Wish and can't wait to continue with the series. I loved Aubrey and Denver.

The beginning of this book was ROUGH with a capital "R." The time jumps were incredibly annoying. One minute the heroine is seventeen, then boom it is years later, and her husband died. At that point she and hero somewhat reconnect, she finds out she is pregnant...and the next chapter...the kid is four years old and the hero has been in their lives for the entire four years as a friend. Considering how short this book was, a little more fleshing out was sorely needed!

That said, after the hot mess that was the first 20% of this book, it did get quite a lot better. Maybe not as emotional as I was expecting, but it was good. Denver was your typical ARR hero. Alpha. Sexy. Sweet. Celibate for four years. I loved his interactions with Lyra. Aubrey was extremely annoying for a good portion of this book, but once she got her head out of her a$$ I warmed up to her. I didn't find it particularly spicy, but we get a couple of sex scenes. There wasn't any OW or OM drama. It had an enjoyable cast of secondary characters, and it was all wrapped up in a few extremely sweet epilogues.

So yea, I ended up enjoying it. But like I mentioned above, the first 20% of this book was a complete mess. The story needed to be fleshed out SO much more than it was. The author threw away a perfect opportunity to tug at our emotions with Gabe's death. She also threw away the chance to create more depth in the relationship between Denver, Aubrey, and even Lyra. Denver was in their lives almost daily for FOUR YEARS, and we don't get ANY pages devoted to that time?? I
