The story that inspired Coraline. I can see where the origin of scary stories for children came from trying to scare them into obedience

I absolutely enjoy reading tales like this one. This is a short and eerie story which are the ones that are always fun to read.

only read the new mother but i had to log it because i can finally articulate why it frightened me so much as a child: it was the fear of abandonment. i was always so scared of losing my mother.
