The whole story is written like multiple journals. Some parts were hard to follow but I liked the writing. So many unanswered questions...

some of the most beautiful and devastating prose i’ve ever read in my life… will need to sit with this one for awhile and maybe reread to fully grasp its excellence

The writing was lovely and some parts made me laugh out loud, which I don't often do when reading a book.
The structure of the book was a bit tedious, with four voices, not three. The fourth voice, the brother Bird, had only one chapter. The third person voice seemed not to fit but was necessary to tell us the rest of the story.
