I enjoyed the mix of stories in this collection. There are several i had never heard before and the more "mainstream" additions (Beauty & the Beast and Rumplestiltskin)are not among the ones most often found in fairy tale collections. It also contains a good short version of The Bremen Town Musicians.
The illustrations are fantastic and when combined with the less familiar tales they are what set this fairy tale collection apart from others. The pictures are bold and bright and cover EVERY page. The fact that they are watercolor allows them to maintain their brightness without becoming a garish distraction.
