I read about 87 pages before not finishing the rest of the book, because I don't like this book, the descriptions of child abuse, alholism, domestic abuse, sexism, misogyny, gaslighting of women.
I returned the book to the shop I bought a refund to get a refund, because I didn't the book.
This book didn't resonate with me, it's just not for me, it was depressing to read.
I'm not a feminist, but as a woman I think women should have human rights & equal rights to men.
Maybe other women would like this book, but it just isn't for me, however I do like the illustrations in the book at least.
I don't like the general opinion the author seems to have which maybe due to the original context & moral lessons of the Brother's Grimm or Hans Christian Andersons' fairytales & fables which were originally gruesome, gory, macabre and dark.
If the opinion of the author is based on the original fairytales that would make more sense otherwise I don't agree with the author saying anyone woman's value, worth as a woman is solely based on their looks, their youth & beauty and a minority of me will treat women accordingly.
I don't think that the way a woman looks does or should determine if they should be treated with respect, empathy, compassion, if a man cares about if/when a women gives their consent or who determines if they have power & control over their bodily autonomy.
