As the title suggests, the book contains retelling of fairytales. I do have to admit, it started out with some statistics that had me going back a bit. Like, where’s the poetry this is math! Yet that reveals the odds of you as a person existing which is actually pretty slim. Who know math could help with existentialism? I found myself gasping at some of the turns and found myself sympathetic to the characters I didn’t think I’d be, but not condoning their actions. This stories easily flow into one another.
I regret that I didn’t curl up with this book for an afternoon with a good cup of tea, because that's what this book feels like. But I’m also glad I didn’t go to bed with this book since I think it would have had me sobbing if I read this at night after a long day.
