Do I believe that the places Dante visits in his Divine Comedy actually exist? Definitely not, but that doesn’t make it a really good story. It’s quite different than Inferno, less interesting in my mind but also a bit more philosophical. I don’t think I liked it more than Inferno but it was still good. The historical figures in this one were a bit less noteworthy, but the scene where he finally finds Beatrice is among the best in these two books. We’ll see how the last book is soon enough.

While inherently less interesting than Inferno, this book is an extremely interesting exploration of how people turn away from “sin” (wrongdoing).
