I’m not really sure what to say about this. I generally love enemies to lovers but sadly this trope isnt always executed very well. On this occasion I found the writing focused too heavily on the characters sniping at each other in a rather juvenile way, rather than being focused on building a deeper and well thought out history of why these 2 carry a deep seated hate for each other. Progress of the plot was slow and too heavily focused on OTT dialogue that left me rolling my eyes one to many times.

i saw the resulution for the mystery like from a Mile away but this was still a pretty cute book, even though tried too hard at some parts, but the magic system was fun and the romance had an interesting dynamic. i had a bit of a hard time picturing the characters and keeping track of names, they felt a bit underdescribed, but it wasn't a problem.

i wasn't expecting the sex right off the bat, but them being switches was pretty cool given that's so rare to see??? noice.
Wow! That was some shit! But that’s how you cohesively write a book with crazy plot twists and turns! A few other authors should take note!
