I'm really enjoying the reread of this series. I'm surprised at how little I remember. But I'm definitely having fun learning this world again.

I liked Dahlia a lot. She's been isolated her whole life and really doesn't think there's any other way she can live. Her talent makes it nearly impossible for her to be around any other person without going into overload over their emotions. She becomes a bomb of fire waiting to happen.

Nicholas is as cool and remote as they come. Even his own team has trouble identifying with him at times. He's a pool of ice. But Dahlia's presence is tossing his world up in the air. Whoever is after Dahlia and trying to end her life has an in with those she's been working with for years. They've got a mole, because that's the only way they would have all the details of her life and they're coming in hard and fast. But with Nicholas protecting her back maybe they have a chance.

Of course these two have a crazy volatile connection. I did enjoy the last section of the book the most once all the rest of Nicholas' crazy GhostWalker team joined them. Still everything about this was a fun action packed ride as they stayed one step ahead of the crazy out to get them.

Published in 2004, read in 2024.
A woman with psychic abilities who was experimented on as a child and then lived basically isolated from the world since then, and a sniper with psychic abilities that complement hers.
There's recovery missions, plots to uncover, and an emotional and sexual connection to explore.
The ideas about things being 'masculine' or 'feminine' date this book, but Feehan's stories are always a fun, wild ride.

I want to know how the Ghost Walkers make it and this story furthered that. Dahlia is the first of the young girls of the first experiment to be found. When Nicolas goes to persuade her to come back, he finds her being hunted which leads to saving her and the rest of his team. What he doesn’t expect is the wild emotional response to her presence on his usually ruthless control.

The second book of the Ghostwalker Series, This book follows Dahlia and Nico who both are alone and force themselves into solitude. The past has shaped their present. Nico was tasked with finding Dahlia and protecting her from the possible threats within her current organization of work and the people hunting down and trying to rid the world of the Ghostwalkers.

We see them slowly learning to trust each other and get over the past trauma they face. They fall in love and their love manifests itself in the sizzling heat. A heat that can burn so bright and so hot.

Someone gifted me this book long time ago when I used to like this kind of romance, never had the chance to read it back then so I’m doing it now but sadly it’s not my kind of thing.

I wondered if book 2 would be as good as book 1 and sure enough, it was!! I can’t wait to see if book 3 mesmerizes me too!
