My first backlist book 23 read! I LOVED the first Colorado Cowboy book and couldn’t put it down and read it within 24 hrs. This book I didn’t feel that pull. it’s a sweet love story, took longer than I would’ve liked for things to be settled.

Very good

At times I wanted to shake These two but at the same time completely understood that they had to go through the journey. Oh what a journey it was! I’m so glad I read this book and I’m eagerly waiting for the next

Roadtrips? A Lady Scientist? Realistic relationships and lovable characters?
What more could you want?

I'm so impressed by this series. I think this is such a compelling series about a family coming to terms with their less-than-ideal family upbringing and learning how to heal from it. I love Flynn. I think his story was set up well at the end of the first book and his growth happened at a realistic pace.

All of the characters were so realistic, I genuinely felt for everyone.

PLUS THE CHEMISTRY. Book 1 was great BUT THIS? THIS!
I often find that inspirational or "proper" romance sometimes lacks chemistry. I'm not talking spicy, I'm talking about genuine human connection. The kind that makes me go "ohhhhh they belong together". Jody is able to create a beautiful recipe that actually has me rooting for the main couple and get excited to see the previous couple.

Remember my review in book 1 where I said it didn't feel like a western? THIS HIT THE MARK.

Also Linenna, oh boy the growth this girl goes through. When she was first introduced, I was scared she was going to be a one-dimensional "I'm not like other girls" character, but no, this girl has got layers.

This was a fun ride. I also loved how well-balanced the faith aspects were. Never did it feel surface-level or forced. They struggled. These aren't the people that tell you "you just need to pray harder". These are people who acknowledge the highs and lows of their faith. I want to be friends with these people.

On to book 3!

Oooh, ooh, ohh, I love Hedlund's cowboys and their heroines!

I've been looking forward to continuing the Colorado Cowboys series since I first read "A Cowboy for Keeps" and let me say that I loved it just as much as I expected! Flynn was even better than I expected and Linnea was just the sweetest!

I won't spoil anything but I highly recommend "The Heart of a Cowboy" for western romance lovers!

And, that snippet of the next book... Ahh, it hurt not to have the book in hand yet!

16/18+ for romance.

Content warning: a good bit of attraction, kissing, suggestions that a character went too far with an old girlfriend before marriage, romantic content, a scene with the guy removing his shirt in front of the heroine, suggestion of immoral conduct.

I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary e/copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

I loved this book! Out of the two surprisingly Flynn’s story was my favorite. Something about him, his determination to do the right thing and put everyone’s needs above his own, combined with the pain and hardship he had endured made him easily one of my new favorite book boyfriends

I have been looking forward to Flynn's story since meeting the McQuaid family in the first book in this earlier this year. This was a fun and exciting read as it has mystery, romance, and an exciting journey all within the book's pages. I really liked Linnea, she was such a fun and unusual character and brought a lot to the story. I enjoyed this story and I can't wait for the next McQuaid family book!

I received this book for review and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
