I bought this believing it to be a book about growing up under the shadow of one of the English Language’s greatest writers but it turns out to be so much more than that so inevitably put it off for fear of a twee misery-fest. Not overly sentimental, it tells the story of a new country while analysing the character of Plorn and his distant (both geographically and emotionally) father. Wonderful actually.
