This book made me cry. It’s sad in a very beautiful way. Short read and the prose helps carry you through the heavy parts. Leaves you reflective of life and death while somehow feel cozy and hopeful. Also cats.

The story is about the main character discovering he has cancer and having to come to terms with that while reflecting on his life. As such, heavy themes like the death of family members or pets as well as terminal illnesses are discussed, most of the time not graphically but at length.thelinusthecat's review against another edition

The perspective from Cabbage the cat was bittersweet yet healing. It was difficult to read as someone trying to recover from losing a young cat suddenly and traumatically. But also brought me comfort in many ways. “For you, sir, I would gladly disappear.” 🤍
