Not a bad book. But most of the characters felt like caricatures. A sassy red head with muscles (but only uses 10lb dumbbells?), a black woman who sees the dead, and a white witch who gets stoned a lot? The story was entertaining and an easy read, but I would say I had the plot figured out about half way through. And the book wasn’t well written, with the dialogue feeling very forced and trite. I know this author is known for YA and as far as I know this book isn’t YA but it still felt like it was.

My first five star read of the year! I could have read another 470 pages of this one. I loved the ending, I loved everything leading up to it and I loved every single character - even the despicable ones.

This book is enjoyable if you're in the mood for a feminist revenge thriller with pre-me-too vibes, but it has flaws. Not every single female character needed to have their viewpoint presented, not every single male character needed to be an incompetent dick and/or monster (except 2), but hey. Go big or go home I guess. With more restraint this book could've been Great. But for an uncritical audience it's probably just perfect. No judgement on that, there's room for everyone.
