Stunning prose, made me want to underline so many sentences - not because they were particularly majestic, but because they described in such unusual, beautiful ways small details. Could be at time flowery, but you just need to let yourself go with the flow. Speaking of - I don't know if it's reading poetry in English, my second language, but I could not understand fully everything on first read, what are metaphors, what is real. But it's ok, I just let myself float from page to page. I recommend taking it in like you would a mural, full of beauty and intricate imagery that you won't remember whole.

If I could, I would give it four and a half stars. It definitely borders on amazing at points. A novel-in-verse that retells the myth of Hercules from the point of view of the monster Geryon, set perhaps in close-to-modern-day Australia from what I recall.
Really loved feeling like I was having small revelations constantly throughout this book. I found a lot of beauty and sadness in it, even if I didn’t always understand

This is one of the sexiest little books in the world, I wish Anne Carson would spit in my mouth before kicking me down the stairs
anne carson's writing is so beautiful, reading this felt like my heart being ripped out of my chest. makes me want to learn more about mythology surrounding geryon and herakles...
