I loved this book but gave it 4 stars for a couple of reasons. Parts of the book went really deep or they didn’t go deep at all so it was which made it a little difficult to maintain a steady listen. I found myself turning it off after a chapter feeling like that was enough for the day. Some parts were also extremely shocking with very little context or explanation. That said, it was really awesome to hear stories of her time on SNL. Listening to how she got on the show, met famous cast members, built her career, and navigated life was really fascinating and gave me a new appreciation for the comedians who I grew up with and love. She starts you off with an absolute punch to your gut story about the devastating loss of her mother, baby sister, and cousin, and her father’s battle with alcohol but peppers it with tales of triumphs as well. I think my favorite but is how she developed her most iconic characters for SNL. Defiantly a good listen.
